The Restoration of the Lives of Hurting Children
In March of 2006, while ministering in Nepal, Patsy Cameneti and her daughter Liliana, visited some homes for orphaned and deprived children operated by Christians. As they observed the orderly lives of these rescued children, something was birthed in their hearts to become a part of bringing hope and a future to the abandoned and hopeless children of that country.
After prayer and consideration, it was decided to contact a longtime friend and pastor from Nepal, D.K. Daniel Limbu. I wrote to him concerning the possibility of starting some kind of outreach to the orphans and hurting children and he replied with the thrilling response that he had been wanting to do something like this for several years.
We then made plans and set guidelines for the home and began to raise funds for the rental of a large house in Kathmandu and also to buy beds, clothing and supplies for the children. After several months, a place was found and his family moved in and began taking in children in April of 2007. He had inspiration to name the home; Hope for Children.
The children will have Christian care and be given godly guidance and be led to a saving knowledge of the Lord Jesus Christ, They will be trained in the word of God and in practical Christian living, prayer and a life of faith and trust in the Lord. They will have medical and dental exams upon arrival at the home, plus medical care in the event or emergency or illness. They will also be well clothed and have uniforms for school. In the school they attend, they will also learn English.
A ministry trip to Nepal in May of 2007 was very timely as Ginger and I were able to see the seven children that would be part of the charter family of the home. On the evening of 12th of May, we had the evening meal with the children and then dedicated facilities and had prayer with the children and the family.
The Lord has brought wonderful partners alongside to help in the startup costs and the sponsoring of the children. We solicit your prayers for the children and for those who will be working with them from day to day. Also, if you sense the leading of the Lord to help, your gift would be a blessing to one of these kids.

Buena Vista, CO 81211UPDATE: April 2010 At present there are 13 children in the home with a limit of 15. We need support for some of the children. Monthly support for each child is $75.
There have been problems with the rental home. It does not have a yard for the children to play and is adjacent to a busy street. They also had sewage water get into the well they use for bathing and washing clothes. A change needs to be made. We are presently making plans to build a home on the compound of New Life Church. The cost for the building is $77,000. To get started, we will need to raise $21,000 to kick off the construction. A loan will be taken out for the remaining amount. The monthly cost for the loan will be about the same as we are presently paying for rent at the present location.
If anyone would like to make a contribution to help us get this construction started please send the funds to Behrman Ministries, P.O. Box 1203, Buena Vista, CO 81211.

Deeva Pangyangu
Age: 14
Class: 5Family Background: Single Father; 5 siblings
Family History: Her father is serving as a Pastor in a small church in the countryside with just a few members. His wife betrayed him and lives with another man. Because of the family crisis the children could not continue their schooling. They have no source of income, no field to farm and no job.
The family lives on a small financial help from that small church. I found her immensely willing to study further and to serve the Lord Jesus Christ. She is also a Sunday School teacher.
She is from the Morang district, Hoshi zone, East Nepal.

Muskan Rai
Age: 7
Class: KGFamily Background: He comes from a non-Christian background. His father was a drug addict and died at the age of 30. His mother then married another man, abandoning him and leaving him in the care of poor and aged grandparents. This little boy was a big burden for them to care for. D.K. felt that he was truly and orphan without hope in need of godly care. Truly there is a plan of God for this boy.
3. Name: Paday Magar

Paday Magar
Age: 7
Class: KGFamily Background: He comes from Jitpur, Khankutta District, Koshi zone, East Nepal.
At a tender age, he experienced violence. His grandfather was stabbed to death. While very young, he watched as drunkards beat his father to death. His young mother left him to his aunt's care who could not actually take care of him. He became very alone in a big world, mentally shocked by poverty and loneliness. He speaks very little.
Praise the Lord, now Padam has met a big family in the Hope for Children home and is happy with his new brothers and sisters here.
5. Name: Shupratikchya Rai

Shupratikchya Rai
Age: 6
Class: KGFamily Background: Her father was working with the local government and married against the will of his family. This made him an outcast of the family. He was stricken with a terminal stomach disease and following surgery, died. During her mother’s sorrow and loneliness, she found Christ as her savior. Her becoming a Christian put her in further contempt and hatred from her husband’s family and also her own. Praise the Lord, she now has a hundredfold family in the Lord.
Shupratikhya had to go to school but her single mother could not help her out because of their extreme poverty. She is now in Hope for Children with a big family closely knitted together in God’s love and is very happy.
6. Name: Sheetal Rai

Sheetal Rai
Age: 7
Class: 1Family Background: Sheetal’s mother, Anita, was 14 years old when she married. She became pregnant with Sheetal. After 5 months of pregnancy, her husband left her taking another woman. She found herself abandoned and living in poverty. With very great difficulty, she gave birth to Sheetal and began working in a carpet factory. She then married another man and soon accepted Christ as her savior, but her husband is not a Christian.
Her second husband did not like Sheetal because of the extra responsibility of taking care of her. Because of his unemployment and poverty and of Sheetal’s mother accepting the Lord Jesus Christ; they used to fight , and he would beat Anita and Sheetal and very often would stay away from home, sometimes for weeks. Now Sheetal has found hope and a home in Hope for Children and is very happy.
7. Name: Pradeep Rai

Pradeep Rai
Age: 8
Class: 3Family History: Pradeep comes from a remote village in the eastern mountains. Before he came to Kathmandu he never saw motorcycles and vehicles. Pradeep's father left his mother taking another woman when he was 2 years old. He does not have any memory of his father.
His mother lived with an old mother taking care of her. Then his mother became sick and died and Pradeep was left alone with his poor aged grandmother. It seemed that Pradeep had no future and happiness but God led him to Hope for Children.
Now he is very happy and goes to school with the other children and is beginning a life of new hope.
