Nepal Trip 2004

I returned in November from a wonderful time of sharing the word in Nepal. My son, Scott Behrman, and I had the privilege of speaking to pastors and their wives at a retreat in Western Nepal. What a blessing it was to minister alongside my son to the hungry people of that nation. It was a reunion of sorts. Pastors who were students when I taught in the training center in 1994 the years that followed were there. In spite of the language barrier, there is a wonderful bond that was formed between us in those times spent in the classroom sharing the word together.

Some of the roads were closed because of the Maoist activity and the about a fourth of the 200 expected did not make it to the retreat. Pastor Joseph, the Superintendent of the Assemblies of God was on his way to the retreat when the traffic was stopped by the Maoists. Government officials who were riding in the second bus ahead of him were dragged off. One of them was shot and the rest bound and taken away. Pastor Joseph prayed for the protection of a government employee on their bus. The Maoists overlooked him and they were able to make it safely through. God answers prayer!

Upon returning to the capital city of Kathmandu, we were joined by Al and Sandra Wood from Colorado. We spent that week together ministering in churches, a Bible School and distributing Bibles in Kathmandu and near the Tibet border.

We thank you for all your prayers and for the special support some of you sent for the ministry.
